Mark brings over 20 years of experience in the development, permitting, and construction of nearly 100 renewable energy projects across the UK, Spain, and Vietnam. In 2023, he relocated to South Africa to lead Mpuma Power, driving the company’s mission to accelerate clean energy solutions.
Brenda Wardall
Operations & Communications
Brenda brings a unique blend of creativity, interpersonal insight, and strong organisational skills to the Mpuma team. Based in Cape Town, she joined the company in 2023 and plays a key role in managing internal communications as well as external engagement with stakeholders, potential investors, and suppliers.
Andre Pieterse
Corporate Finance Director
André is a financial services expert with 35+ years’ experience in investment banking, corporate advisory, and project management. A former CEO at Absa Capital Private Equity and senior executive at Nedbank Capital, he now consults across Africa with an emphasis in the energy sector. Andre is inter alia contracted to PWC for the IPPO re-finance programme as Commercial Lead.

Based in Johannesburg, Foord joined Mpuma Power in 2025 and is responsible for planning and permitting across the company’s renewable energy projects. He oversees multiple applications, manages consultant teams, and ensures that submissions meet the required standards to drive successful project delivery.

John has spent over 15 years building trusted partnerships with public and private corporations in sales leadership roles. He is committed to empowering clients with technology and energy solutions that drive measurable impact and long-term growth.
Anela Ndzobongo
Project Planning Manager
Based in Cape Town, Anela joined Mpuma Power in 2025. She has extensive experience in delivering large-scale energy and ICT infrastructure projects. Her portfolio includes national deployments of rooftop solar and inverter systems, fibre networks, and IT infrastructure upgrades.
Mark Gordon
Environmental Director
Formerly DDG of the Department of Environmental Affairs, Mark was responsible for permitting most of the original solar and wind farms in SA, he wrote much of the original renewable energy enabling legislation and frameworks in South Africa. He acted as a climate negotiator for South Africa and built South Africa’s first scale solar plant.
